HARRY BERTOIA DIAMOND CHAIR - REPRODUCTION 

This is a high quality reproduction of the Harry Bertoia Diamond Chair. A renowned sculptor, Bertioa made a series of amazingly comfortable steel latticework chairs in the early 1950’s.


This Diamond Chair features solid steel construction and durable triple chrome finish consisting of a thorough cleaning / degreasing, chemical bonding, and then a three-step nickel bright striking. process. Our factory has been making this same chair for over six years and it is the finest reproduction you will find anywhere. The seat pad is top grain, 100% aniline-dyed leather, each piece is cut and hand-sewn with attentive detail.

This painting is part of the 2009 series of pillow paintings that I created with soft pastel.  Pastel has an immediacy and tactile quality to it that offers me a respite from the demands of oil painting.  I can usually complete a painting in 2 or 3 sittings versus weeks with an oil painting.  I frequently paint landscapes, and these pillows on the floor in my studio were too hard to resist as a interior landscape.  Their softness, color and form are fabulous.
